Why does Yahoo want us to upgrade to IE8 when clicking on mail?

When at work I use IE7 and when I click on check mail it has in bold letters at the top "Upgrade to Safer IE8". Why does Yahoo not have "Upgrade to Safer IE9" since IE9 is available now?|||Hello rustyohiostate,

IE8 is proven to be faster and safer than IE7, so that is why Yahoo is recommending the upgrade. Yes, IE9 beta is now available to download and try out. Since it is in beta, there will still be changes made to IE9 before the final version is released. If you are running Vista or Windows 7, feel free to test out IE9 beta which can be downloaded from here - www.BeautyoftheWeb.com?ocid=yahoo

If you'd like to wait until the final version of IE9 is released, you can download IE8 from here http://www.microsoft.com/windows/interne鈥?/a>

Cheers,

Cassie

IE Outreach Team|||Well because they're paid to advertise it by microsoft.

Yes, IE9 is available now but it isn't actually out yet, it's just available as beta meaning people can test it. If it's not officially out yet they won't really advertise it for download but they will still allow downloads of the beta from their site.|||That's because IE9 is still in Beta, meaning it is for testing only, and not recommended for regular use.
